QUOTE(Lowball Plath @ Oct 9 2007, 03:08 AM)

I haven't visited this place in a while and just thought I would say hi.

I clicked on a couple of threads but nothing looked too promising- is there any kind of real debate going on now or just the same name calling?

Whats new in the world of 9-11 truth and 9-11 truth debunking?

Well basically in the world of 9/11 woo, they have taken quite the plunge. After 9/11/2007 it was quite obvious the dwindling support that there is for the Twoof Movement. With only at most 150 people showing up in NYC to protest, and then protests rarely seen around the country of maybe 20 people at most, its apparent that the Twoof Movement is dying off rapidly. There is a reason that this forum is dead, there is no one left to debunk. Most have ran away with their tail in between their legs. Even over at JREF you rarely see any CFs. Hell Loosechange forums are even struggling. So basically we can all be happy that this absurdity and virus upon critical thinking known as The 9/11 "Truth" Movement is finally coming to a screeching hault.

Hault?

Is that some kind of witticism or inside joke or just being dumb?

I think what *is* true is that most people don't waste much time talking to "debunkers" anymore.

most people don't waste much time talking to "debunkers" anymore.

I'll buy that. I've been a mousepad twoofer for a few years, and I've all but ceased getting into it with the shills. I may post an appropriate link here, or a drive-by quip there, but no serious time investment "debating" them otherwise. As to worrying about "what J6P undecided lurker might think", I worry less about them... those with eyes and brain will see, and many never will.

I do think it's most worthwhile to hang around at non-911 sites' messageboards (remember, >half the internet's bandwidth is dishing out pr0n, many eyeballs there!), where you post valuable, on-topic posts; but then your signature is an animated GIF of WTC-7 with a proper link asking something like, "does WTC-7 look like a controlled demolition??", and the link points to a youtube video or a good truth site.

If agent abrahamson's recent ridiculing of street truth actions is any indication, then street actions are plainly the most valuable use of our time. That in-the-flesh, eye-to-eye communication, with proper lit & dvds, is multiples more powerful than text on a screen.

nail head meet hammer

the personal touch is the way to go.  never mind what people hear or see on tv or the internet or in rags like the NYT, the Nation, or Vanity Fair.  When they see a non-weirdo dedicating a lot of time out in public they will be curious.  They will eventually work up to approaching you.  Then you will impress them with how calm, rational, and sane you are.  Then they will be awake.  The perps know this which is why they try to intimidate us and make us afraid to stand proudly in public.  The apologists know this too which is why they hurl epithets as they walk by.  The rest, the vast majority are just people.  People just like us, who can think for themselves.  Our strength is in our numbers (and the fact that we are right!)  They can control and manipulate a debate in the media, but they don't have enough friends to counter each of us in the street.  We are winning--don't doubt it for a second.

fault, vault, somersault, so... hault! bedunker logic at work

the planes hit the buildings, the buildings fell down.  repeat.

only 150 in NYC on 9/11/7?

even agent abrahamson put the lowball estimate at 1000...

Judging from the truthmove

Judging from the truthmove footage the number had to have been at least 2000, possibly 3. As for the "tiny" streetcorner protests, I would venture that we will see these numbers climb substantially over the next few months as the 11th Day campaign continues to expand. If we think in terms of exponential growth, I would not be surprised to see hundreds of people turning out in every major American city by February.  From there the possibilities are limitless.  The key is to encourage friends and family to come along for the ride, stressing that they don't have to do anything but stand there for an hour or two. On that note, I'm off to the Vancouver Art Gallery for the 11th Day demonstration. Should have some nice pics for ya tomorrow. :)

As for the "debunkers", I tried engaging them in debate on the JREF forum but left after a few posts.  It was clear that no one there was interested in objective analysis of the information.  The goal of those people, as far as I can see, is obfuscation, obfuscation, obfuscation.  The intellectual dishonesty and propaganda techniques become tiresome very quickly.  That the decline in  "twoofer" traffic on their forums is cited as proof that we have been "debunked" is quite laughable.  The simple fact is that they are just a sideshow, completely irrelevant, and not worth the time of day.

not worth the time of day

i was a lonesome truther tonight here on the streets,

of downtown Hackettstown, NJ, in front of the Gazebo, where many times over past years, hundreds have gathered for anti-war/MoveOn type vigils.  the 9/11 - 11th Day of Every Month - vigils are a little more difficult to mobilize. Yet, I am determined, every month! I had my signs with websites, handouts, etc., "patriots ? 9/11!".  Last month, although it was "9/11", we had about 10 show up.

Gretavo, i thought tonight, you are so lucky to be in a town like Boston! The ability to exchange thoughts with passers-by!  in my town, they drive by, all chatting away on their cell phones.

i did almost cause an accident at the intersection...people slowing down trying to read my signs and digest...that was wild.

unlike previous demos, no "fingers", no spewed exhaust...praise God.

it's amazing how the anti-war folk do not come out for 9/11 events. they are divided, the Democratic party is divided. and we all know what that's about.

the media wall has to be broken down!~

Good for you!

Have you mentioned that you're active in Hackettstown over on the truthaction forum -- you can find like-minded, close-by folks there sometimes.  Makes just standing there (if you don't have a chance to actually converse with people) a lot more fun.

thanks Cass,Gretavo, Danse!

it was heartening to return home last night and read Danse's comments.

you know, I did think of all of you as I stood there!

and, yes, Cass, i listed Hackettstown, NJ on the October 11, 2007 event blog at truthaction.org., (although i forgot the "n").  someone has contacted me from Phillipsburg, NJ so we may try to hook up.

persistence!

just think WE are all there with you, Kate of the Crowded Kiosk!

Depending on where I Am it isn't always easy here either.  When I sit outside during my lunch break at Harvard, though I usually have at least one brief convo, most people do just walk by.  Sometimes it doesn't bother me, other times I get that feeling of "jeez are people really still this blind?"  Whatever the case, there are ways to cope.  It helps to keep in mind that every time someone sees one of your signs, it is not an isolated incident but an experience that is compounded with the collective efforts of every other truther.  Maybe a student who sees my sign at Harvard will mention it to their family in New Jersey on the phone, and they will say--"you know, I saw this awesome looking lady representing the same cause here the other day..."  EVEN IF they don't imemdiately go out themselves with a sign--even if they only commiserate over being surrounded by freaks, it is one more chip, one more crack in the edifice of lies.  Just imagine how many people who see your signs will be hearing about 9/11 truth somewhere else shortly thereafter.  Remember, you're part of a whole that is just hitting its stride.  We are all there with you, every day, and we will all be there to celebrate at the victory ball.  Save a dance for old RT!  Wink
