Erin S. Myers Threatens to Pop Me One

i gotta be honest, and maybe im just a little slow, but i can only understand what Erin is saying about 50% of the time. i sort of understand his frustration in a broad sense though(the way yet another thread has become about pointing out dreaded disinfo and attacking personalities and not about the actual topic)but dont see why he went where he went with it, there was no need for that. im pretty fucking sick of people telling me how and what to think around there lately though......

About what is actually at issue there.  So Carol Brouillet posts something by Eric May.  Eric May is one like Hufschmid who is a bit over the top rhetorically in his discussion of the role of "the Jews".  Carol Brouillet on the other hand has never been one to point much of any finger at Israel.

My take on much of this is that there are elements of the controlled truth movement that play different roles in their protection of Zionism.  There are the Erics--Hufschmid, May, and Williams, who play the role of the barely closeted anti-semites.  They criticize Israel, invoke the holocaust questions, and refer to things like "crypto-Jews".  I don't know if I would lump Chris Bollyn in with them, not least because his name is not Eric... :)

The Erics basically set themselves up for a "debate" to take place between some in the truth movement who pretend that those guys are not problematic on the one hand, like Brouillet perhaps and those who can't believe that they are ever given any attention whatsoever since they are clearly Jew-hating neo-Nazi scum on the other--names like Jon Gold and Dylan Avery come to mind.

The apparent purpose of this tactic is to create the illusion of a debate--but it is a pre-fabricated debate that seems designed to lead the unwitting observer to come down on the side of the more lovable-seeming folks like Jon "official victim family and first responder teddy bear" Gold and Dylan "just a kid with no college degree standing up to the NWO" Avery.

Of course there are other types, like Nico Haupt, David Icke,  and David Shayler who are plain over the top loonies (or play them in the movement anyway), more subtle disinfo like Jim Fetzer (and apparently Dan Abrahamson of FFN) who push directed energy weapons (DEW).  Right-wingy seeming people like Alex Jones who help turn off liberals to 9/11 Truth and perhaps a few other categories.

It seems abundantly clear to me that we can in this light discern the basic architecture of the anti-9/11 truth movement.  It is also apparent that there are similarities in this contrived "battleground of ideas" and the bigger contrived ideological landscape of the fake left-right paradigm that cripples american democracy.  Divide and conquer, of course.  But also confuse.  Confuse people and make them prefer to stay out of anything resembling a debate over an important issue.

What seems less clear is how to effectively counter such tactics.  It helps I think to understand the dynamics, and for that we have to be able to have reasoned dialogue about who we feel to be helpful and who we feel to be hurtful to the cause of raising awareness of REAL 9/11 truth.  That's why I have never believed the sincerity of those calling for "unity", especially when they are the same people who call me a neo-Nazi for citing the work of Jewish holocaust scholars like David COle.  Being united it seems requires one not to point out the problems with fixating on the barely existent role of Pakistan in 9/11 while abstaining from any mention of the holocaust in the context of historical events that may not, like 9/11 be questioned in the mainstream consciousness.

One reason I was determined to bring this site into being was to not only provide an alternative to the ioncreasingly sketchy 911Blogger, but also to encourage others to take the initiative in diversifying the movement's communication resources--unity has its place (and its pitfalls,) but diversity is actually much more important and I think self-evidently always a good thing.

On a totally unrelated note I'd like to briefly report back from my truthing of last night.  Thanks to our very own Kate of the Kiosk I learned of a Palestinian film fest happening last night at the Harvard Law School and headd over there to hand out some flyers.  The hall was packed with people but there was a mixed response to my presence with some people happy to stop and watch WTC7 collapse and take a flyer and others giving me that "oh no its one of YOU" looks, including some people who looked like they should totally be on our side, unfortunately.  Baby steps, drops of water, etc. no doubt, but that's just how it is.  We really do need to reach out more to Arabs and Muslims, folks, let me just say that.
