A Tale of Fake Truthers
Once upon a time, a new poster appeared at a few 9/11 Truth discussion sites. He endeared himself to the regulars at one such board, despite the fact that he admitted to having just dropped out of high school, by toeing the fake truther party line about Muslims and LIHOP and Pentagon jets (oh my). Now he's not a truther at all, anymore -- being allegedly one of that vanishingly rare species, the ex-truther. He comments at the leading 9/11 debunker site.
Expect more of this: truthers with a high-profile shtick suddenly "seeing the light" and trying to drag others down with them into that pit of bad faith and celebratory cognitive dissonance: debunkerism.

It seemed/seems to me that "Arcterus" was primarily focused on being anti-CIT, anti-Barrie Zwicker, and anti-David Griffin, etc. from my reading. I don't recall him ever being "for" anything except possibly the Hoff-Ash "party line."

Unfortunately, even Hoffman and Ashley appear to have lost their copies of their script, and I suspect even they no longer know what that "party line" is exactly.

Here was my response to some of the criticisms I had read(note I didn't read the whole thing. It's not like I'm work-free).
that was not my intention at all. They should have said something to me
up-front because they have a whole plethora of misconceptions about me.
CIT's no-plane theory is completely ludicrous, just like the others, so
even though I don't intend to bunch them up with no-plane-at-WTC, I
hardly hold them at a higher level.
Also I have a plan that I announced shortly before joining Truthaction
and so I must be COINTELPRO? Haha. First of all, I found TruthAction
through Arabesque. Joining a forum is not a devious plan. Second, MY
PLANS HAVE ALREADY BEEN PUBLICLY ANNOUNCED! SO MUCH FOR RESEARCH!
And to top it off, any quick look at that forum would show that I've
been talking about 9/11 for YEARS there! And that's just on that forum.
Then there's back when I went to TBFPITU and at the multiple
incarnations of LCF. However, I was relatively absent on forums because
I've spent most of the past few years sorting out my thoughts on 9/11
and compiling information. On some of the earlier forum posts I mention,
I sound like a complete idiot because I had no idea what I was talking
about. I was endorsing this same no-plane-at-Pentagon crap, for example.
And then I use "uh" a lot in my interview. What these people don't know
since it's audio-only is that I'm constantly getting messages from
technical staff about what's going on, not to mention I had to do the
hour-long interview STANDING in a heated sound room. All things that
make it difficult to concentrate. I almost didn't hear the first bit of
what Jim was saying having to adjust to all this.
And then you can hear me breathe. Yep. That's what happens when you have
high-quality microphones right up to a speaker phone that's picking up
every sound in the room, of which the phone and myself are the only
sources for such sound. So yeah, it stands out a bit, but it's easy to
fucking ignore.
And I didn't really read the rest. Whatever. I can tell bullshit when I see it.

they are saying, you can't take them seriously.

Now that's what I'm talking about!!! Well...fake and those duped by
their fakery. But I agree entirely. There really is a lot of totally
bogus crap coming from those sources. Everyone responding on this thread
has been the subject of their crap, and we all know that it indicates
some extent to which we've been doing something right.
So yeah, once again, consider it an indication that you are doing the
right thing. And don't get too focused on responding to the crap. It's
likely that they want to distract you in just this way.

Just got referred to this. On the subject of Gravy, I did, in fact,
intend to ask him about any willing attempts with various debunkers, of
which Mark Roberts would be explicitly mentioned. However, as you'll end
up seeing in Part 6, the people recording me were signaling that it
wasn't recording, and after putting him on hold for a while, I had him
re-iterate a few points, which is what Part 7 entails. Hence, I did not
get a chance to get to that question, since we were only set for an
hour. Having said that, we also talked near the end about any future
encounters whether via interview or event or whatever, so hopefully I'll
get the chance to ask him another time.
