Alternative explanations for 9/11 deserve to be heard

This letter intends to correct some of the wrong reasoning aired in Mr. Travis Lee’s column (”Healthy skepticism can go too far,” Feb. 14) of last week. He wasted an unhealthy portion of his diatribe on “9/11 Truthers” in claims that we are egotistical “lone wolves” and “martyrs,” self-delusional with our own dreamy notions of being right and rare. He further claims that we are antagonistic towards any who disagree with us.

While it may be true that some of us regard his sort as, if not a fool, then “one who has been fooled,” it is probably because we are weary of being saddled and dismissed with the mindless designation of “conspiracy theorist” when in fact we have highly credible, logical points of contention regarding the mass murder of 2001. Most of us (and we are not nearly as few as you are led to believe) are eager to have a civil discourse on the subject and wish only to experience a form of justice which is long overdue in this country.

It is ironic at best that Mr. Lee could exhibit such bridling loyalty to the orthodox version of Sept. 11 when he himself has observed that voting in a system run by dissembling and undifferentiated hucksters — who define themselves by bipartisan support for that same, crucial Sept. 11 orthodoxy and all it has produced — is a useless exercise and one he disdains.

OT: hiccups

The hiccuping has been godawful the last several days. I see that one of our top visitors is someone in Dallas -- should the ban hammer come out? (I know some folks like to read the site without being logged in...)

gretavo's picture

yes it has!

The error is also unfortunately a very generic one according to my research, meaning that there could be multiple causes, which would explain its persistence. Disabling certain features may do the trick, hang in there!

Yeah the hiccups are gawd awful.

Seem to be especially bad when logged in.

Been meaning to clarify with Dr. T, and now seems as good a time as any, that I am in Michigan. Big_D's just a nickname I picked up a long time ago. (My first name starts with a D and I'm 6'7" & around 275#. So I guess it fits.)

yep i think you're right

worse when logged in, which means one of the things contributing the errors must be something that is enabled for registered users and not annoymice... sigh. i guess i'll be turning things on and off for a while to see if I can't pinpoint the problem...
