Posted this over at the truthaction forum and thought it would be a good topic for discussion here as well.

Actually, it's in the

Actually, it's in the process of being dragged over a mountain. It's an image from Werner Herzog's film "Fitzcarraldo", based on the true story of a man who really, really liked opera. In fact he liked it so much that he thought everyone in the world should be able to hear it, including the natives of Peru.  So he tried to build an opera house in the middle of the Peruvian jungle.

"Fitzcarraldo runs his ship as close as possible via an alternate river
and then enlists the aid of the native Peruvians to drag his ship over
a mountain to the desired area. However, the natives seem to have their
own agenda in so mysteriously acceding to Fitzcarraldo's wishes. The
results manage to both mock and affirm the dreams of determined figures
like Fitzcarraldo, making absurdity out of the stuff of human endeavor
without negating the beauty of that effort."
