CORRECTION: Securacom Was NOT Running WTC Security on 9/11

Upon further research by yours truly, I have discovered that my statement above that Securacom "ran security at the WTC 'up to the day the buildings fell'" is false. It turns out that Securacom was only responsible for a specific contract to install some electronic security equipment.

The NY Port Authority and Kroll Associates were responsible for handling the actual day-to-day security at the WTC. Please see my recent blog article about it: Kevin Ryan Writes Another Limited Hangout Piece Regarding WTC Security, Limits Scrutiny to Bush/Bin Laden

When I made that assertion above, I was simply repeating the oft repeated claim that has been made for the last 7 years by the 9/11 Truth Movement. The original source of that claim was from words taken out of context from an interview with Securacom/Stratesec CEO Barry McDaniel quoted in a February 4, 2003 article by the Prince George's Journal (Maryland), in which McDaniel was referring to a "completion contract" on electronic equipment that they were working on "up to the day the buildings fell down." They were apparently contracted to work on a very small part of a larger contract that E-J Electric Installation Co. won - a $28 million contract to upgrade electronic security at the World Trade Center.

Contracting to install some specific components for an electronic security system is very different from "running security" or "handling security". The truth movement appears to have largely been misconstruing the role of Securacom/Stratesec in regards to WTC security for at least 7 years and needs to correct this mistake, imo.
