Tal Ben Shahar, "Positive Psychology" and 9/11
Here's his site: http://www.talbenshahar.com/
Yes, it's pretty sickening stuff... here's a quote from his site:
"Tal Ben-Shahar is an author and lecturer. He taught the largest course at Harvard on "Positive Psychology" and the third largest on "The Psychology of Leadership"--with a total of over 1,400 students. He currently teaches at the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya, where he co-founded The Institute for Positive Psychology in Education.
Tal consults and lectures around the world to executives in multi-national corporation, the general public, and at-risk populations. Topics include happiness, self-esteem, resilience, goal setting, mindfulness, and leadership.
An avid sportsman, Tal won the U.S. Intercollegiate and Israeli National squash championships. He obtained his PhD in Organizational Behavior and BA in Philosophy and Psychology from Harvard."
Herzliya, huh? That is indeed the same Herzliya where Mossad has its HQ. Here's his wikipedia entry:

Now, I hyperlinked that one he wrote right after 9/11 to the google books version where you can read most of his screed--but here's the product description from Amazon:
"Product Description
What is the conflict between Islamic fundamentalism and the free world really about? Can terrorism be defeated? How is Israel’s war in the Middle East related to the global war against the terrorists? In A Clash of Values, Tal Ben-Shahar confronts some of the most difficult and critical questions we must face in a post-September 11th world. Drawing on historical facts and essential philosophical truths—from the cause of the refugee problem to the nature of rationality—Ben-Shahar’s principled and pragmatic approach makes sense of a situation that often seems senseless."
And here are some of the many media plugs he got while he was teaching (as an untenured lecturer, not a prof, my bad) at Harvard:

Those are just a few mainstream plugs--the Harvard Crimson, of course, was full of them: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=tal+ben+shahar+site%3Athecrimson.co...
So I'm not saying, you know... Just saying... Hmmmm.
