Real Truther's picture

What's up with the conflation of 9/11 Truthâ„¢ with Holocaust Denialâ„¢ by both opponents and presumed supporters of the truth m

What exactly IS Holocaust Denialâ„¢?

As truthers we should understand this point well for our own good--the label Holocaust Denierâ„¢ is applied to a wide range of people with a wide range in beliefs. As truthers we are diverse group of people with a wide range of beliefs grouped together in people's perception (often unfairly, in our opinion.)

The technique is at once apparent. In both cases even polite discussion of legitimate and even uncontested facts is shut down for fear of taint by those who profess more extreme views, often dishonestly, on the subject at hand.

The person beginning to learn about something is immediately shown an extreme example of some unsavory proponent of an alternative to the "official" account. In the case of questioning details of the established narrative not in dispute, this is a disservice to understanding at best and at worst an effort by some to prevent others from learning what may be an inconvenient truth.

How many kinds of truth are there anyway? Forbidden truths, inconvenient ones, half-truths (not to be confused wth white lies), fundamental truths, self-evident truths.

Will we as a movement stop abusing this word and be specific about what we stand for?

In my mind we are against denial. Denial of the truth.

Our opponents are not liars, they are Truth Deniersâ„¢, either overtly or subconsciously. The truth denier is identifiable by her active efforts to stifle discussion of a subject so that the issue of its veracity can never be challenged.

Can someone post that Nietszche quote about the best way to make something look bad being to support it poorly...?
